Located in the heart of the Northwestern Campus, the Kellogg School of Management has established itself among the upper echelon of business schools. It gained the #1 business school ranking in BusinessWeek 5 times, the most of any business school. Kellogg is best known for its marketing department, headlined by the marketing guru Phillip Kotler. Kellogg offers a specialized MBA curriculum. Students can select up to 5 majors.
All Kellogg classes are held in the Jacobs Center (pictured in the About section). The school is currently in the process of raising funds to purchase a new building. Please add any pictures and descriptions of the Jacbos Center as appropriate.
It's well known that Kellogg places a strong emphasis on teamwork. A sense of camaraderie is formed between classmates even before orientation begins through the optional KWEST trips (Kellogg Worldwide Experience and Service Trips). Students travel in groups of 20-25 to various destinations around the world for a week-long trip. Some trips are more weighted towards activities ranging from scuba diving to skiing, while others put the emphasis on sightseeing and partying.
Most Kellogg first-year students enroll in a GIM (Global Immersion in Management) class during the Winter quarter of their first year. Students spend the quarter learning about the business environment of a country of their choosing. They then take final exams a week early and go on a two-week trip to the country of study. The trips include meeting with prominent business leaders, sightseeing, and an inevitable embracing of the local night life. The following news clip shows a CNBC feature on Kellogg's GIM India trip of 2007.
