Finance I
 Class Overview - Finance I (430)[edit
This introductory finance class is required in Kellogg’s core curriculum. Students who have had previous finance experience and feel comfortable in concepts such as the time value of money, the CAPM, and discounted cash flow analysis should consider taking Turbo Finance. Kellogg tends to place newer members of the faculty to teach this class, so teaching quality can vary. Students interested in finance internships take this class in the fall quarter as preparation for interviews (which happen in the Winter quarter, as early as January). Classes in the fall tend to be a bit more fast-paced and filled with students are more aggressive in gunning for an “A” grade in order to impress potential employers. Classes in the Winter and especially Spring tend have students who are more marketing/strategy focused and seek a more general management-based perspective on finance.
